For this project, I made two lockers with my group members. We made them so one was the "Before" locker and the other one was the "After" locker. One contains a sparkly unicorn, green grass, a rainbow, and a dark hand claiming the unicorn to death. The other locker contains a decapitated unicorn head and horn, unicorn guts splattered on the walls, and intestines and other organs hanging in the locker.
My mentor is Allison. We talked about our favorite mediums and projects. Her blog link is allison-apex-2016.weebly.com. What I found most interesting about our discussion was her multimedia butt project.
For this project, I made a series of bowls. I chose to do this because I haven't worked with clay very much, and I thought it would be interesting to work with a new medium. I chose to use navy blue, coral, and white because those are the colors in my room. I like the colors, shapes, and patterns in my pieces. However, if I were to do it again, I would try to make the clay less lumpy, and more even.
For ink week, I drew one piece using sharpies and made various designs abstractly. For my second piece, I made an elephant, and used sharpies to decorate the space around it.
For my theme, I chose "Looking through" because I thought this was a unique perspective. I like this picture because you can see the sun and it's rays peaking out of the tree's branches, and the sun looked different at every angle as you walked around the tree. I also like that the sun creates the pink dot near the tree. |
