In this piece, I used Prisma Color to draw snow globes. This subject was reflective of my life, because since I was young, I have been collecting snow globes from the places I travel. The reflective aspect of my piece was the glass on the globes. I really liked the way that the figures within the snow globe and the designs on the bases turned out as well as the vibrant colors I used, but I am not entirely satisfied with the way the glass is. When I began the piece, I was having difficulty with the glass, and by the time I figured out a good method to complete the glass for the last few snow globes, the others were already too waxy to add more color too. I tried using an eraser, rubbing alcohol, and white gel pen to try to develop the color and finish further, and it was successful to a certain extent, but I think I would like to go back to this piece later and perfect it even more. For me, the main reason the glass was difficult to draw was because if I drew the glass as I saw it in my reference pictures, it looked unrealistic, so I had to exaggerate the values and add more contrast. Overall, I think my piece turned out well, but if I could do it again, I would incorporate a larger range of values into the glass.
